Iowa High School sports have been suspended over the entire state due to corona virus concerns. Monday was to have been the first day of golf and soccer practice for the Greene County teams, but all spring sports are on hold until at least April 13, perhaps longer.
Track & field is the only Spring sport that has had competition. The Rams went to Cedar Falls last week for the A.D. Dickinson Relays and had some outstanding performances.
Junior Brooklyn Olson threw the shot 38′ 5″, more than two feet than her previous career best. That distance ranks fourth in the state for the indoor meets that were held prior to competition being suspended.
On the boys side Carter Morton won the high jump at 6′ 5″, which is the second highest jump in the state in the limited amount of indoor meets that have been held. Morton long jumped 20′ 4″, which ranks number 14. Colby Kafer went 21′ 4″ in the long jump at Cedar Falls, good for sixth best in the indoor season. All track & field meets, indoor and outdoors, have been cancelled through at least April 12.
