In response to the spread of the 2019 novel coronavirus to Dallas County, the City of Perry has announced it is closing all offices until further notice starting today.

This includes all City offices, the Water Works Department, the McCreary Community Building, and the Perry Public Library. City Administrator Sven Peterson emphasizes that the decision was not made lightly or out of fear, but rather out of caution and consideration of the health of Perry residents. The Perry Water Works will be accepting utility payments through the drive through window, though residents are encouraged to utilize online payment options. All garbage routes will continue to be picked up as scheduled.

Peterson adds, they are assessing whether or not to hold the regular City Council meeting tonight, which is supposed to include three public hearings. Keep listening to Raccoon Valley Radio for the latest closures and cancellations related to the spread of COVID-19.
