As the official start of the spring season inches closer, one sport program is starting up with the Jefferson Parks and Recreation Department.
Youth soccer starts with the U8 program, with participants playing games in Jefferson and Ogden on Saturdays from April 4th through May 9th. Practices will be held at Kelso Park, to be determined by the coaches. The cost to participate is $35 for Greene County Community Center members and $40 for non-members. Additional fees are $15 for youth jerseys, $17 for adult jerseys and $5 for socks. The deadline to register is Saturday.
The U10, U12 and U15 leagues will be from April 4th-June 6th, with practices to be held on the Greene County High School football practice field and games in Fort Dodge. The cost to participate is $40 for members and $45 for non-members. Additional fees are $15 for jerseys, and $5 each for shorts and socks. Deadline to sign-up is March 27th.
JPRD Assistant Director Nathan Kral says soccer continues to be a growing sport in the community.
“Yeah from what I can tell, lots of people have been interested in soccer, especially at the youth ages. So I know it’s a growing sport and hopefully we can get good numbers in our program.”
Call the community center at 515-386-3412 or stop by to register for any of the soccer programs.
