One indoor meet is in the books for the Greene County girls and boys track & field squads. The Rams competed on Monday & Tuesday of this week inside the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls. They were to have been in the ISU High School Indoor meet in Ames March 16 and 17, but those meets were cancelled due to corona virus concerns.

Both the girls and boys return State qualifying, State place winning, and Drake Relays place winners. Girls’ head coach Derek Merk talked with Raccoon Valley Radio about the strong nucleus returning. “We think we have a handful of girls with experience that will be great leaders. I think there’s a lot of positiveness and the girls are getting along real well this year. We have some girls that I think will step up and be able to help us out. It’s going real well so far.”

The Rams aren’t big in numbers with 17 on the girls’ team at last check. The boys’ teams has more than 30 listed on its roster.
