Paton-Churdan junior Danielle Hoyle was named to the Iowa Girls Coaches Association All-State basketball third team. Hoyle is one of 24 girls honored in Class 1A, eight girls for each of the three teams.
Hoyle, a 6′ 3″ post, averaged 18.3 points, shot 62.4% from the floor, hauled in more than 11 rebounds per game, and had more than four blocked shots each contest.
Pat Kruse, the Activities Director at P-C, told Raccoon Valley Radio, “We’re very happy for Danielle and our entire girls’ team. Her being named to an All-State team has all the girls excited about next season.” The Rockets went 15-9 and lost in the district title game to eventual 1A State Champion Newell-Fonda. P-C had no seniors on the squad.
Macy Emgarten of Exira-EHK was the only other Rolling Hills Activities Conference player named to one of the three teams and she was a second team selection.
