A special community group assigned by the Perry Community School district began the process of interviewing several candidates for the Activities Director job at Perry Community Schools.  Long time athletic director Tom Lipovac announced this winter that he will be retiring at the end of the year.  Community members were selected to help the process in finding the right fit for the challenges facing Perry athletics.  The new athletic director will be faced with an ongoing discussion on whether to remain in the Raccoon River Conference or pursue other conference affiliations that are more in line with Perry’s social economic status.  Participation will be a key emphasis in several sports as Perry looks to improve student involvement not just at the high school level but also in junior high and youth programs through the McCreary Center.
