Next week is spring break for the Perry School District, and for kids and families sticking around town, the Perry Public Library has an assortment of activities in store.
Children’s Librarian Suzanne Kestel says the events will kick off on Tuesday, March 17th, as the Science Center of Iowa will visit for a special program at 10:30 a.m. “It’s called ‘Simply Electrifying,’ and it’s an interactive program exploring the exciting world of electricity! Experience hair-raising fun with a ‘Van de Graaff’ generator, (and) watch as you and your friends become electrons and atoms! This program is geared towards kindergarten through 5th graders, it’s free to attend, so they don’t need to register. Just come and have fun!”
The rest of the week includes a “Bunny Party” for 2-5-year-olds at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, healthy kids snacks with Hy-Vee Dietitian Rebecca Harken at 2 p.m. Thursday, and a showing of “The Tale of Despereaux” at 10 a.m. Friday. Kestel says each event is free to attend, and only the healthy snack program requires registration.
