The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn School Board convened Monday evening in regular session.
The meeting began with discussion on the discontinuation of using class rank at the high school, which will be considered at the regular meeting in April. The action items started with approving the publication of the fiscal year 2021 budget and setting a public hearing for the budget certification. Superintendent Greg Dufoe pointed out, the District will once again have no change in its property tax levy. Following that, the Board approved an engagement agreement with Ahlers and Coonery for bond and disclosure counsel, and directed the advertisement for sale and bidding of the bond notes for the new elementary school in Adel. Other items approved related to the new building include: starting the naming process; a proposal for the building commissioning and energy services; and amending the resolution authorizing the redemption of the general obligation bonds.
The Board then gave consent to dispose of obsolete equipment at the Minburn Elementary building, approved an agreement with the West Central Valley School District for transportation services, and signed a contract with Behavior Health. The meeting concluded with a closed session to discuss confidential records, and an exempt session for negotiation strategy.
