If you are looking for some fun entertainment Friday evening, look no further than Jefferson.
About 40 Greene County Middle School students will perform the musical, “Annie Jr.” Co-Director Tammy Brophy says the musical is a smaller version of the full production of “Annie.” It’s the story of Annie, who is in an orphanage in New York City and she is finally adopted by Daddy Warbucks. The show includes familiar songs such as “It’s a Hard Knock Life” and “Little Girls.”
Brophy points out what it’s been like rehearsing with a large cast since winter break.
“This has been a wonderful cast to work with. You can (see) that this is an interest of theirs, and so they do come ready to work hard. There are times where it’s hard to corral them all. But they know the expectations right off the bat. It’s been fun and they have been working hard.”
The performance will be Friday at 7pm in the high school auditorium. Brophy adds, the cost to attend is a free-will donation, which will go toward future middle school productions. There will also be a silent auction that evening, with several middle school art displays to bid on, with proceeds to go toward middle school art supplies. Additionally, there will be an FFA fish fry from 5-7pm at Ram Restaurant, also for a free-will donation, with proceeds to go back to the Greene County FFA Chapter.
