Greene County High School senior Carter Morton was named to the boys’ basketball first all-conference team in the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference. Senior Cael Fisher and sophomore Bryce Stalder were on the Honorable Mention list. Greene County was 5-17 overall and 3-13 in the HOIAC. The Rams were seventh among eight teams.
Morton averaged 17 points per game, or about one-third of the point scored by the entire team. He led the team in several categories and averaged 6.45 rebounds and 2.59 steals per contest. The 6′ 0″ guard shot 74.5% from the free throw line and had 30 more made free throws (76) than another other Greene County player attempted. Morton was a second team all-conference selection as a junior.
Stalder’s 8.2 points per game average was second highest on the team, and Fisher averaged 5.8 points.
