Two Raccoon Valley Radio counties are highly discouraged from conducting controlled burns today.

According to the National Weather Service, Adair and Guthrie counties will be under a red flag warning today from noon-6pm. Weather officials say the red flag warning is when there are critical fire conditions prevalent.The National Weather Service says there will be relatively high humidity levels of around 30-percent, along with wind gusts as high as 40-miles-per-hour are considered extreme conditions for favorable grassland fires that could spread quickly. Any controlled burns in the red flag warning areas are highly discouraged today.
