The filing period for public offices for the June 2nd primary and the November 3rd general elections are fast approaching.

Any Republicans or Democrats running for federal or state offices have until this Friday at 5pm to submit nomination papers to the Iowa Secretary of State’s Office. Any candidates running as a Republican, Democrat or Non-Party Political Organization for county offices for either the primary or general elections must file nominations by Wednesday, March 25th. Greene County offices up for election include auditor, sheriff and three supervisors. 

Those running for the Greene County Hospital Board of Trustees, Greene County Soil and Water Commission and township trustees have until March 20th to file nomination papers with the County Auditor’s Office and candidates running for the Greene County Extension Council have until August 26th.
