Motorists in Adair County should be mindful of a state highway closure taking effect for a bridge replacement project.
According to the Iowa Department of Transportation, from March 16th to October 1st, weather permitting, Highway 92 east of Greenfield will be closed. A detour will be posted starting in Greenfield. Motorists will travel south on Highway 25 to Orient, east on County Road G-61 to County Road P-33, or Henry A. Wallace Road, and then north to Highway 92. Murphy Heavy Contracting is the contractor for the project. Motorists are reminded to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. Drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seatbelts.
