Following the Daddy-Daughter Dance last month, the Jefferson Parks and Recreation Department is co-sponsoring the Mother-Son Date Night.
The event will take place tomorrow from 6-8:30pm at the Greene County Community Center. It is for mothers, grandmothers or a mother figure to take their special boy in pre-kindergarten through fifth grade out for a night of pizza, games and bingo. The event is co-sponsored by the Jefferson Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post #9599 and the the VFW Auxiliary. Parks and Rec Assistant Director Nathan Kral talks about having community partners like the VFW to help donate prizes for bingo and games during Mother-Son Date Night.
“With the Mother-Son Date Night and the same with the Daddy-Daughter Dance the VFW has been great in sponsoring us. They want to get themselves back out there into the public. It’s easy for us to sponsor them and they’ve been great to work with. The more that people want to be on board and get involved together is great for the community.”
The fee to attend is $20 per couple for community center members and $25 for non-members. There will be a $5 charge per additional boy. To sign-up, call 515-386-3412 or stop by the community center.
