The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors approved renewing their benefit agreement with Avesis Vision Care Tuesday.
Human Resources Director Pam Lane presented two new lens coverage options from the provider, and the Board approved the higher option which Lane said amounts to an approximate $3 increase per single user and $7 for families. However, she said this additional coverage would mean $418 in savings for those insured. Lane also mentioned in her department update that she has posted for the conservation department’s administrative assistant position, and she has two interviews scheduled for the Information Technology administrator position on March 11th.
Becky Benton of State Street Insurance then gave the Board a $1,000 annual check from the Iowa Communities Assurance Pool, and informed the Board that Iowa Municipal Workers Compensation Association insurance rates are expected to decrease for the second year in a row. Finally, the Board approved a contract resolution for the bridge replacement project on Chestnut Road, a Secondary Roads Department management structure to follow Maintenance Superintendent Randy Clipperton’s intended retirement, and a fireworks permit for the Lake Panorama Association.
