Greene County held its wrestling awards night in the middle school gym on Tuesday. Head Coach Zach Beekman and the assistant coaches presented letters and other awards.

The Rams were 23-5 in dual meets, the most meets wrestled and the most won in program history.

Freshman McKinley Robbins finished in second place at 106 lbs. in Class 2A at the State Tournament, and sophomore Brenner Gallagher at 113 went 1-2 at State and finished in the top 12 in his weight class. Freshman Emma Hoyle finished in the top 16 among 40 wrestlers at 138 lbs. at the Girls’ State Tournament in Waverly.

Junior Sawyer Schiltz (220) and senior Will Hansen (160 lbs.) were District qualifiers.

Those four were letter winners, as were seniors Braden Gallagher, Gage Michaelson, and Matt Naberhaus, juniors Chance McCollom, Brady Stauffer and Joe Davis, plus sophomore Nathan Black and Hoyle.

Robbins received the Most Valuable Wrestler Award in honor of Chase Flack. Brenner Gallagher, Hansen, and Stauffer, earned the Guts Club Award. Gallagher also received the Iron Heart Award in honor of Fred Watson and the Warrior Ethos Award in honor of Jake Taggart. Schiltz received the Most Improved Varsity Wrestler Award in honor of Aaron Beaman Hansen received the Citizenship Award in honor of Brad Badger. The Outstanding JV Wrestler Award in honor of Logan Scheuermann went to Cody McCollum.

Cheerleaders lettering were Lauryn Killion, Ashlyn Fredericks, Joslyn Month, Tieryn Tucker, Haleigh Tucker, Abby Kozal, Lia Lenchanko, and Savannah Parker. Tucker and Weir were team captains.

Heart o f Iowa Activities Conference Academic awards for students having 3.50 or higher grader point averages as a junior or senior went to Frederick, Killion, Monthei, Tucker, Weir, Isaac Louk, Makala Kafer, Hansen, and Naberhaus.

Three separate Super Booster Awards were presented to the Flack Family with Brenda, Clint, Chelsea, and Chantel, there to accept; to Mackenzie and Abby Davis, and to Justin and Lacy Robbins
