The West Central Valley girls basketball team showed terrific progress this year on the defensive side of the court, as they were able to use quick hands to record a terrific amount of steals and keeps teams points per game down. The team recorded 263 team steals this year, with seven different players able to record a steal. West Central Valley freshmen Isabella Munoz was the best one on the team, with 50 steals on the year and did a great job of forcing players into difficult situations.
WCV was also much improved against other attacks, giving up around 43 points per game, which was one of the better defensive units in the West Central Activities Conference. The Wildcats will be hoping to continue to get better on the defensive end, but this year was an excellent jump that saw a team buy into a defensive system and have great success.
