A Guthrie Center man was recently sentenced to prison following two drug-related incidents last summer.

According to court documents, 45-year-old David James Elliott pleaded guilty to possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, a class C felony, and was sentenced to serve up to 10 years in prison. He must pay over $1,100 for a fine and surcharges. All other charges for the two cases were dismissed, including three felonies for distributing drugs to a minor, gathering where controlled substances are used, and possession of a controlled substance third or subsequent offense. The sentence will run concurrently with serious misdemeanor convictions from 2018 and 2019.

The cases stem from a July 10th 2019 incident when Elliott was arrested at a Bayard residence while a search warrant was executed, and two subsequent search warrants were then executed at Elliott’s residence. His cell phone was seized and an alleged text conversation was found between him and a 16-year-old regarding sales of Adderall.
