ADMs Kaden Sutton is the class 2A 285 pound champion this last weekend in Des Moines, getting his first state championship in a run that saw a lot of exciting action. He was able to dominate in the first two rounds recording falls in each match before getting into an exciting battle in the semifinal round against Van Meter/Earlham wrestler Darrin Sesker. Sutton and Sesker went into an overtime match in Friday Night, with the score tied 1-1 with both accomplishing their point via escape. Sutton was able to get three on the OT period with an escape and takedown to just sneak by with the victory.
In the finals match on Saturday, Sutton was able to get the 4-2 decision in the championship match over Taven Rich of Maquoketa in a match that went back and forth as well before the big finish by Sutton.
Sutton had a big week as well with him appearing on highlights from local TV stations as well as an article about in the Des Moines Register. Sutton concludes his season and his career with a 40-1 record, a state championship, and his name into Tiger history for the Iowa State football commit.
