The Panorama boys basketball team will compete for a district championship later this evening.
The Panthers will make the trip to Harlan for a neutral matchup with Kuemper Catholic. Panorama’s path to this game included a first round bye, then a 69-46 victory over AC/GC last week. Kuemper Catholic beat Underwood in the first round, then upset AHSTW, Avoca 73-69 in the semi-finals.
Panorama enters the game with a 16-6 record, winning 11 of their last 12 games. For the Panthers to earn another game, they’ll need another big night from leading scorer Malachi Peasley. The senior is averaging just over 16 points per game. Kuemper Catholic will lean on their leading man Kyle Berg who leads the way with 14.5 points per game.
The winner will head to Council Bluffs Saturday to face either Treynor or Tri-Center, Neola for a spot in the state tournament. The game is set to tip off at 7 p.m. tonight in Harlan. You can listen to the game on K107.9, online at RaccoonValleyRadio.com, or on the FREE KKRF app. The New Way Ford and New Way Auto Pre-Game Show will start at 6:45 p.m.
