The monthly Perry Lutheran Homes Alzheimer’s and Dementia Support Group will be meeting Tuesday afternoon, and it’s always open to new members.

The program will be held in the large meeting room at the Perry Public Library, starting at 3:30 p.m. PLH Chief Care Officer Deb Koelln will lead the gathering, discussing topics that people caring for those diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease and dementia regularly face. She will also address the physical and emotional needs of caregivers, and offer advice for engaging and enriching the lives of loved ones as the diseases progress. Koelln is a certified dementia practitioner and master trainer with extensive experience in dealing with the illnesses.

The meeting is free to attend and open to anyone, and no registration is required. Perry Lutheran Homes facilitates the group on the last Tuesday of each month, and they feel it’s a valuable resource for attendees to learn, share, and connect with others who are in similar situations. Anyone with questions can reach out to Koelln by phone at 515-465-5342 or by email at dkoelln@perrylutheranhomes.org.
