In what proved to be their final game of the season, the Perry varsity girls basketball team fell by a score of 55-35 at Bondurant-Farrar Wednesday evening.
The game started very slow for the Jayettes, as they only managed to score on a pair of free throws in the first eight minutes, trailing after the first quarter 16-2. Their field goal drought would last the rest of the first half, as they added seven more free throws in the second quarter and Bondurant enjoyed a 39-9 advantage at halftime. Perry came out in the second half with renewed vigor, outscoring the hosts in both the third and fourth quarters. However, the hole they dug in the first half proved too deep to crawl out from, and their season ended at the hands of the other Bluejays, 55-35.
Senior Molly Lutmer, playing in her final high school game, led Perry with 16 points on the night, including 14 in the second half. The Jayettes finish their season with a 6-16 record, and they went winless in the Raccoon River Conference.
