Absentee voting for the special Jefferson City Council election is now available.
According to the Greene County Auditor’s Office, any eligible voter within the Jefferson city limits can vote early, ahead of the special election on Tuesday, March 3rd. Individuals can vote in the County Auditor’s Office during regular business hours of Monday through Friday from 8am-4:30pm, and until 5pm on Monday, March 2rd. Those wanting an absentee ballot mailed to them must first fill out an absentee request form. The last day that ballots can be mailed out is this Friday.
There are two candidates on the ballot, including Pat Zmolek and Sean Sebourn. The election is to fill a vacancy on the Council. The seat became vacant once former Council member Matt Gordon became the new mayor. It is to fill the remaining two years of the four year Council term.
