Back in January, Dallas County Conservation held the first of two Winter Stargazing programs, and the second is coming this Friday.

The event is titled “Constellations, Patterns, and Rhythms,” and Conservation Outreach Coordinator Ken Keffer says it will be a great way to be in touch with your natural surroundings. “I think these things just sort of help us connect with the rhythms of nature around us. You know, there’s a seasonality with the sky just like there’s a seasonality with the trees. So it’s another great way to be involved. Again, it’s going to be an outside program, (so) wear some warm clothes. But (it’s) that time of year, you know it should be a nice, crisp evening to watch the sky!”

There is no cost to attend the program, but registration is required. It will be held Friday from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Kuehn Conservation Area southwest of Adel. For more information or to register, stop in or call Forest Park Museum in Perry at 515-465-3577.
