adel-baseball-and-softball-registration

Registration is currently open for youth in Adel to take part in America’s Pastime this summer, though the window closes soon.

Kids age 3-12 are eligible to sign up for one of five different levels of baseball or softball through Adel Parks and Recreation. The three and four-year-olds can take part in “Little Sluggers,” which is a non-competitive league where score isn’t kept and kids are there to learn the basics and have fun. There are two sessions, with the first running June 8-24, and the second from July 13-29. The next level is t-ball for kids age 5-6, which will run May 9 – June 30 for boys and May 11 – June 30 for girls. The rookie leagues run over the same time frame as t-ball, and is open to boys and girls age 7-8.

The minor league for kids age 9-10 and the major league for 11 and 12-year-olds is from March 31 – June 30 for softball and April 23 – June 30 for baseball. Each except for the “Little Sluggers” will require some travel, including games in DeSoto, Van Meter, Earlham, Panora, and Redfield, depending on the league. Teams will have 2-3 games a week, with practices scheduled by individual coaches. The cost to participate is $35 per child for “Little Sluggers,” $70 for t-ball, and $85 for rookie, minor, and major leagues.

The deadline to register is Friday, February 28th, and sign-ups are to be done online. Click the link below to access the online registration.
