KG98 and the other Raccoon Valley Radio Network stations have a busy week carrying postseason basketball and wrestling.

Tomorrow night it’s Paton-Churdan girls’ basketball at home in Churdan vs. Glidden-Ralston in the second round of Class 1A Region 8 play. The Rockets are 14-8 and are 2-0 vs. G-R, while the Wildcats are 10-12. Game time is at 7 p.m. with coverage at 6:40 p.m. on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.

The Greene County girls are fresh off a Class 3A Region 3 upset in Gowrie over Southeast Valley on Saturday by a 56-51 score. The Rams are 3-19 and they’ll go to Story City Wednesday night to face number 3 Roland-Story for the third time this season. The Norsemen own 76-11 and 70-9 victories over the Rams. The State Wrestling Tournament is Thursday, Friday, Saturday of this week at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines and all three Raccoon Valley Radio Network stations will be carrying the action starting with Class 3A at 9 a.m. Thursday. Class 2A begins at 1:30 p.m. Thursday with 1A at 6 p.m. Thursday.

Freshman McKinley Robbins at 106 and sophomore Brenner Gallagher at 113 both qualified for the Greene County Rams. Robbins is 34-1 and the number three seed, while Gallagher is not among the top eight seeds in his weight class.
