Schools in Guthrie County and across Iowa were recently graded in the state Department of Education’s annual school report card.
The report card looks at a school’s performance based on criteria including participation in assessments, academic proficiency, student growth, graduation rate, and post secondary readiness. It also gives an overall performance score to each building: priority/comprehensive, needs improvement, acceptable, commendable, high performing, and exceptional. For the Guthrie Center School District, the elementary school received an overall performance rating of high performing, and the high school was rated as acceptable. For the Panorama School District, the elementary was rated acceptable, middle school was rated high performing, and the high school was rated as commendable. At West Central Valley, all four of the school buildings were rated as acceptable. To read more details of these reports, visit here.
