Following a pair of wins on Monday for the Dallas Center-Grimes Boys’ and Girls’ Basketball team at Pella Christian, DC-G turned around last night for another Varsity tilt at 4A Indianola.
Last night’s match-up was the second meeting for the two schools this season. In the earlier meeting, Indianola got the best of the Mustangs and Fillies in Grimes, but the DC-G Girls’ traveled to Indianola bound and determined to get even, and they did just that.
The Fillies were nothing short of impressive in their win at Indianola. DC-G started hot, leading by 13 after the first quarter, and they never looked back. The final score was 60-44 in favor of DC-G. The win on Tuesday gave the Fillies a 12-6 record heading into a rematch with Pella Christian on Friday at home in Grimes. DC-G has now won 6 of their last 8 games.
On the Boys’ side, Joel Rankin’s team was fatigued and outgunned against the bigger, 4A Indians. DC-G’s defense wasn’t up to par, as it had been in the past couple of weeks. The Mustangs allowed 75 Indianola points in the first three quarters of action. DC-G takes the road loss, 83-46. DC-G will have the opportunity to get back on track against the very same team they beat on Monday, as Pella Christian makes the trip to Grimes for another Little Hawkeye Conference Boy/Girl Doubleheader.
Girls’ action on Friday is scheduled for a 6:00pm tip off, with the Boys’ to follow.
