After several weeks of delays due to weather, one Jefferson resident finally received an award for his coverage of Greene County sports.

Raccoon Valley Radio’s Doug Rieder was honored at halftime of Tuesday night’s varsity home boys basketball game with the Iowa High School Athletic Directors Association Media Award. To receive the award, a school district athletic director has to nominate a media individual. Greene County High School Activities Director Todd Gordon nominated Rieder for his 40 years of Greene County sports coverage. 

Rieder was honored to receive the award.
