A pair of wrestlers represented AC/GC in championship matches in the Charger Invitational over the weekend.

Seth Danker received an opening round bye in the 126 pound weight class. Then after a 9-0 and 9-5 wins in the quarter and semi-finals he found himself in the championship match. Unfortunately, Danker fell in a 5-2 decision to Colby Wiederholt of Van Meter/Earlham to finish in second place.

One weight class above him, Gunnar Larsen was looking to build on a stellar junior campaign. Larsen won by fall then a 7-2 decision in the semi-finals. His day ended with a silver medal after falling in the championship match.

As a team, AC/GC finished 10th in a field of 19 at their home tournament. The road to state begins this weekend as sectionals kick off Saturday in Guthrie Center.
