The West Central Valley girls and boys basketball teams returned to the court for their third of four games this week on Thursday Night, and the girls came away with a victory over Pleasantville 48-43, while the boys fought hard but feel short 69-23.

The girls played a gritty game at home that saw them take a nine point halftime lead into the locker room, and were able to keep the away team from making enough plays at the end to record the victory. The Lady Wildcats once again did a great job of playing team basketball and causing Pleasantville into some situations when they caused pressure. The girls are now 10-7 on the season.

The boys were unable to overcome some shooting woes throughout the game that ultimately doomed them, and will try to keep figuring out ways to score the basketball.

Both teams will keep grinding through this busy stretch with another game tonight against Des Moines Christian.
