The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors approved fiscal year 2021 funding requests from the Guthrie County Fair Board.

Fair Board President Tyler Carney informed the Supervisors of events from the past year, including the construction of the Art and Ag Hall and new Lions Club and American Legion food and bingo stand. Carney stated that the Board has about $4,000 left to pay the remaining costs for those projects. For this year Carney mentioned the new 4-H static building project the Fair Board is helping support, and a tile line project. He added an antique tractor display building will also be constructed on the fairgrounds this year, which has been funded completely by Kenten Benner for his Eagle Scout project.

Carney said last year’s county fair attendance was probably the greatest it has ever been, and they will be hosting another dinner auction fundraiser on March 7th. The Supervisors approved budgeting the same amount for the Fair Board as last year, with $8,000 for the fair and 4-H program, and $30,000 for the fairgrounds.
