The Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers participated in arguably their toughest tournament to date on the wrestling mat on Saturday when they wrestled in the Ed Winger Tournament in Urbandale. The Tigers had two wrestlers place in the field, with Kaden Sutton finishing 2nd at the 285 pound level, and Ben Smith finishing 8th at the 120 pound mark.

Sutton wrestled against kids at the 3A mark in the first two matches and was able to record a pair of falls, but faced a top ranked wrestler in Griffin Liddle out of Bettendorf, and Liddle came out with a 3-1 decision over Sutton in Sutton’s first loss of the year.

Nonetheless, it was a great performance by Sutton, who despite his first loss of the year was hyper competitive in Urbandale.

Now the team will be back on the mat this week for some big matches starting on Tuesday when they head up to Jefferson to participate in another meet.
