The Greene County Board of Supervisors met Thursday.

The Board approved a letter of support for the conservation department for a Greene County Community Foundation grant for a latrine project at Spring Lake Park. Additionally, the Board approved the second pay estimate of over $179,000 for a tile improvement project in drainage district 14. The Board also reviewed the 2021 fiscal year insurance rates with Joan St. Clair of Heritage Insurance. It was mentioned that there will be a 20-percent increase in the County’s contribution to workers compensation and a $13,000 increase for payroll. The Board was also presented with a $1,000 grant check from the Iowa Communities Assurance Pool to be used on safety equipment.

Finally, the Board held a budget discussion. They discussed the funding increase request of $3,500 for the Greene County Libraries Association. They also talked about what to do with non-departmental funding requests once the Louis Dreyfus $50,000 funding line item reaches its 18-year agreement. No action was taken following any of the discussions.
