Think you have “nothing but net?” Area kids can test that claim at the Stuart Knights of Columbus local free throw shooting contest this Sunday.
The competition is open to boys and girls ages 9-14, and participants can sign up starting at 11:30 a.m. at the West Central Valley High School gym. There is no cost to compete, and a parental signature is required. Competition will begin at noon, and those who shoot the most baskets will advance to the district contest also happening at the West Central Valley High School February 9th. There can later advance to regional and state championships. The Knights of Columbus has been sponsoring the free throw championship since 1972 to provide an athletic outlet, encourage sportsmanship and healthy competition, and connect to communities.
