The 14th ranked Panorama girl’s basketball team avoided an upset to extend their winning streak.
The Panthers made the trip to Madrid for a double-header. The Panorama girl’s team took the court to try to keep their conference title hopes alive while Madrid came out hungry for their first win of the year. The Tigers came out swinging and officially put Panorama on upset-alert as it was Madrid on top after the first quarter 11-8. The Panthers quickly found their game and dominated the next two quarters, outscoring Madrid 31-11. Panorama went on to run away with the game 52-34. Panorama leaned on Laci Rishel who led the Panthers with 24 points. Payton Beckman’s uncharacteristic night led to a five point performance, shooting 0-8 from the field.
The Panthers will take the court again Friday for a Guthrie County showdown with AC/GC.
