The Perry Public Library is big into crafts, whether it’s the monthly craft club project in the middle of the month, or the open craft room at the end. The latter is coming up this weekend, and crafters of all sorts are invited.
Library Director Mary Murphy says the large meeting room will be open from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. this Saturday, and people can stop by at any time to work on any craft project they may have. There will be hookups for everything from sewing machines to irons to hot glue guns, and the room will be set up to offer a variety of space for any task. Murphy adds, library staff will be on hand to help out. “It’s really a day set aside that you can get away and just craft for six hours. I know Miss Suzanne (Kestel) is working on some of her scrapbooking that she doesn’t get done all the time, and other people are crafting also on the staff. So (we’re) kind of taking turns on who is hosting it. But the room is there for anybody who wants to come in and craft.”
There is no cost to attend and registration is not required. Attendees can stay for the entire time or come and go as they please. Drinks and snacks will also be allowed in the room. Anyone with questions about this or other upcoming programs at the Perry Library can stop in or give them a call at 515-465-3569.
