The countdown to the 43rd annual Bike Ride to Rippey, or BRR Ride, is at less than two weeks, and the excitement in Perry is growing by the day.
Chamber of Commerce Director Lynsi Pasutti says the 2020 ride will be held on Saturday, February 1st, starting at Hotel Pattee in Perry, and it will happen regardless of the weather. Riders have until the end of this week to register for $30, after which it will increase to $35, and to $40 the day of the event. Registration includes a t-shirt, pin, a raffle ticket to win $500 in Perry Bucks, free hot chocolate, admission to the McCreary Community Building for the day, support services, and discounts from local merchants. Pasutti says BRR typically brings thousands of people to Perry each year, and getting everything ready is a big task. “It’s really exciting, it’s right around the corner, (and) we have been working on this for months! A lot goes into this annual event, from getting riders excited about registering all the way back in October, to the end of the year when the price goes up, and just kind of building that excitement. Because it is definitely an event that can be very weather dependent, with a bike ride outdoors in February.”
Pasutti discourages riders from taking part without registering, emphasizing that BRR is the biggest and most important fundraiser for the Chamber each year, whose mission is to support local businesses and the community. She adds, they’re still finalizing details for entertainment at the hotel before and after the ride, as well as for getting more involved with the Rippey side of the festivities.
