The Greene County Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) 55+ recently announced its results from the Lots of Socks and More campaign drive.

RSVP collected 1,410 pairs of socks and underwear that were distributed to Greene County youth, along with another $305 raised for additional purchases. Those items went to New Opportunities of Greene County, which were then given to each child that signed up to receive a Christmas bag. Items that weren’t used will be given to the Greene County School District to be distributed to other students throughout the school year.

Other items, such as diapers, pull-ups and wipes were collected and sent to the Greene County Early Learning Center. The non-profit organization received 397 items.
