The Greene County Democratic Party is hosting a learning opportunity about the changes to how caucuses will operate this year.

The “Caucus Countdown” event will be held at the Jefferson City Hall Council Chambers at 7pm Monday. Greene County Democrat Party Central Committee Chair Chris Henning invites all those interested in the new caucus procedures to come to the free event. 

“For those people who haven’t been to caucus for a while, for people who have never been to caucus, or who are nervous about caucus (are invited). It’s going to be a fun event, a training event, and we’re going to caucus for candy and see how that all works.”

Henning points out one of the changes to the Democratic Caucus is only allowing individuals to realign themselves one additional time if their first candidate choice isn’t viable. Those interested in participating must be a registered Democrat and the event will be led by Dale Hanaman of Rippey.
