The Iowa Caucuses are a little more than three weeks away and Greene County residents are encouraged to participate.
The Greene County Democratic Party has announced their caucus locations, which follow the general election precincts. The first Jefferson precinct will caucus at the Greene County High School cafeteria, the second will be in the high school media center and the third will be in the high school auditorium. The caucus location for the central precinct will be at Jefferson City Hall.
The Greene County Republican Party has also announced their caucus locations. The first Jefferson precinct will be at Greene County Elementary, the second will caucus at Abundant Life Ministries Church, the third will meet in the third floor of the Greene County Courthouse and the central precinct will be at Clover Hall on the Greene County Fairgrounds.
Both political parties will caucus at the Churdan Library Community Room for the north precinct, the west precinct will be at the Scranton Community Center and the east precinct location is at the Grand Junction Community Center.
The caucus will begin at 7pm. Only registered Democrats and Republicans will be allowed to caucus. Individuals can also change their political parties or declare to be a Democrat or Republican to caucus that night. Voter registrations can be changed through the Greene County Auditor’s office or the night of the caucuses on February 3rd.
