The Scranton City Hall and Community Center have had a facelift, due in large part to a grant.

Scranton resident and project leader Dawn Rudolph tells Raccoon Valley Radio through a $60,000 Grow Greene County Gaming Corporation grant, they were able to install a new roof on the community center, along with some tuckpointing on the brick exterior. As for City Hall, Rudolph explains they added a new exterior with new siding, three-feet of nova brick and a new roof. Crews also replaced the exterior doors and windows. The interior of City Hall also received some improvements. Rudolph says a furnace was replaced, along with roof vents and some drywall.

Rudolph adds the total cost of the projects is $160,000. She says they still need $30,000 to complete the funding for the projects.
