The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Theater Department recently announced its spring production, which will take people back in time with a drama inspired by 1950’s film noir.

The play is called “DOA,” written by Elizabeth Lovelady and inspired by a movie of the same name. Director Molly Longman said a number of factors went into the selection of “DOA,” starting with its sizable cast of 15-25 actors. She said she was looking for a drama, and felt a play in the vein of noir detective stories would be something students and audiences could get excited about. She also felt bringing in a genre the students aren’t as familiar with will make them more well-rounded actors in the future.

Auditions for the play will be held on January 7th and 8th, open to students in 9th through 12th grade. The show will be performed April 17-19 in the high school auditorium, with evening shows on Friday and Saturday and a matinee on Sunday.
