A Casey man was arrested Thursday on felony drug charges.
According to court records, at about 10 p.m. Thursday a Guthrie County Sheriff’s Deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by 33-year-old Thomas Allen Doherty at the gas station parking lot in Casey. The deputy detected an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle, and saw an open alcohol container. Doherty and another vehicle occupant admitted to the presence of illegal items in the vehicle. The deputy then conducted a search, locating rolling papers and raw marijuana, four methamphetamine pipes with a baggy containing methamphetamine, and four partially smoked marijuana joints.
Doherty was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance – third or subsequent offense, a class D felony; and knowingly keeping a premises for use of controlled substances, an aggravated misdemeanor.
