As we celebrate the beginning of a new year and decade, Guthrie County residents should be aware of some office closures this coming week.

The Guthrie County Courthouse, Health Services Building, and Transfer Station will be closed on New Year’s Day Wednesday. Panora and Guthrie Center city halls will also be closed on Wednesday, and Stuart City Hall will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday. The Mary J. Barnett Memorial Library in Guthrie Center will close at 3 p.m. Tuesday and remain closed on Wednesday. The Panora Public Library will close at 4 p.m. on Tuesday and remain closed on Wednesday, and the Stuart Public Library will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Guthrie County Extension office will also be closed New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. Panora and Guthrie Center residents who have garbage routes on Wednesday will be picked up on Thursday, and Stuart’s routes will run as normal. All post offices will be closed New Year’s Day, along with most banks.
