Besides snow removal operations and parking regulations, there are some City ordinances the Stuart Mayor would like to remind for residents.
Mayor Dick Cook stresses that Stuart City Code states all vehicular parking spaces located in front yards shall be a minimum of 10 feet in width and be surfaced with gravel, concrete, or asphalt. Cook shares why this chapter is of importance to him, “The trouble is when people pull them off of the street, a lot of times they’re just pulling into the yard and then the mud gets dragged back out in the street so we’d like to go ahead and get gravel there and Jim Henderson, if it’s available, he has a big scoop from his backhoe for $18 a scoop which is approximately a ton of gravel he can bring to you if you call the City Hall and arrange it.”
Cook would also like to advise residents that City Code contains a duty to trim trees chapter, which states that trees must be trimmed so that all branches are at least 15 feet above a street and eight feet above sidewalks. More information on this and other Stuart ordinances can be found here.
