As 2019 winds down to a close and we head towards a new decade, many local businesses and organizations have begun taking stock of the year that was while looking ahead to the year that will be.
One such organization is the Perry Chamber of Commerce. Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti says in looking back at the last 12 months, it’s easy to get excited about what’s been going on in Perry. “All in all, I would say 2019 was a great year! Lots of successes, lots of activity, some growth, and it’s just been fun to be a part of it and see the community really thrive this year. And so I think we’ve really seen that growth happen with new businesses, people jumping on board with new events and activities. And just really getting excited about being here and all the Perry pride that’s here already, and just building on that.”
Some specific things Pasutti felt went well for the Chamber this year included: 13 ribbon cuttings to celebrate new businesses and new members; a successful Fourth of July and Sesquicentennial weekend; the expansion of both vendors and shoppers for the farmers market; and the newly added Sip and Shop events. Looking ahead to 2020, she says people can expect even more ribbon cuttings – with a couple already in the works for January – and some more new events such as the Perfectly Perry Bridal Showcase in February and the Big Boom Bracket Battle in March.
