People passing by the Perry Public Safety Building recently may have already noticed, but in case you haven’t, there’s been a lot of activity recently involving the Perry Police Memorial.
The Perry Crimestoppers organization has been working on the project more nearly two years, and with the recent additions the memorial is closer to being complete. The newest pieces include figures of a police officer and K9 unit, which were erected near the large boulder that was placed in October of 2018. The future of the project includes a plaque attached to the rock, a figure of a child, and additional landscaping. The total cost of the project is around $12,000, and the goal got closer earlier this year thanks to a donation from the 100+ People for Perry.
The Crimestoppers hope to have the memorial completed this spring, at which time they will hold an official dedication.
