A Scranton man was recently sentenced to prison for burglary and probation revocation.
Greene County Attorney Thomas Laehn tells Raccoon Valley Radio, 25-year-old Kole Higgins pled guilty to a Class D Felony for third-degree burglary. As per the plea agreement, Higgins will serve five years in prison and the other felony burglary charge was dismissed. The felony conviction stemmed from an investigation with the Greene County Sheriff’s Office that began on September 19th. Higgins stole several birds and birdcages from the victim in Scranton. The other felony burglary charge that was dismissed was from when Higgins stole Muppet and Nascar memorabilia from a Churdan resident. Laehn adds, per the plea agreement, Higgins would pay victim restitution from both incidents.
Laehn says Higgins was then sentenced to ten years in prison for violating his parole. Higgins was serving three years of probation following a series of drug convictions by a jury in August of 2018. District Court Judge Joseph McCarville imposed the full ten year prison sentence and ordered the two prison sentences to be served consecutively.
