A Van Horne woman has been sentenced to prison for possession of methamphetamine and violating her probation in Guthrie County.
Court documents show that 28-year-old Angelia Mae McAtee was convicted of possession of meth, a schedule II controlled substance, second offense, an aggravated misdemeanor. McAtee has been ordered to serve no more than two years at the Iowa Medical and Classification Center in Oakdale, and was given credit for time already served for this offense. The court found that McAtee doesn’t have the reasonable ability to pay restitution of legal fees and costs, and $625 fine was suspended. She is ordered to pay restitution for up to $300 for jail fees, as well as $135 for a law enforcement initiative surcharge and D.A.R.E. surcharge. This case stems from a September 24th incident in which a Guthrie County Sheriff’s Deputy saw McAtee in the Guthrie County Courthouse. She was arrested for an active warrant and was found with a small baggie of meth, two pipes, and a snort tube.
This sentence shall be served concurrently with a two-year prison sentence for violating her probation on child endangerment and assault charges from an October 2018 Bayard incident.
